About Me
I am Amna Kiran, a surface pattern, textile designer and artist from Cavan, Ireland. Originally from Pakistan, my expertise lies within a multitude of mediums: Painting (oils, watercolours, acrylics), drawing, sketching, weaving, calligraphy, block printing, Adobe Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC.
As an artist from Pakistan who migrated to Ireland, a sense of (un)belonging is threaded throughout my pieces, whether it's my prints, paintings or quick sketches. My artwork amalgamates the East with a Western style maintaining my individual expression. My craving to learn new things and ability to assimilate new concepts helps my style continue to evolve in new dimensions. My ambition is to create art which is respected and recognised as works that inspire. I have a Post-Graduate Degree in Related Arts from Punjab University in Pakistan. I have also done e-course Modules 1, 2 and 3 plus Winter and Summer design school courses from @Makeitindesign. I am also a member of @MIIDLiveHub. My design inspiration comes from my keen observation of colours and shapes in nature and objects surrounding travelling which I like to portray in my work. My representative designs are colourful, quirky, raw and diverse.
